Welcome to the Toybox, a compilation album of the best MIDI compositions I have made in my starting years as a musician, all rendered through the Roland Sound Canvas SC-88 and the TTS-1. Included within are 20 tracks that span through 2000-2007, divided into 2 sides. Side 1 presents the more accessible and melodic songs I have made while Side 2 presents more challenging and experimental compositions.

Why is this coming out now? First of all, I've been stuck in this endless rut that I cannot seem to shake off and part of me is always looking backwards into this era of music that just sat there on my harddrive, mostly unheard of and unexploited because of its .MID format, which is mostly obsolete and impossible to exploit properly within the proper hardware or software. By publishing these old songs and by giving them a tangible form that they can be finally shared as and listened to, I'm hoping that I'll be able to finally stop looking backwards and let myself immersed with the taste to make music again, so that there will be brand new content to look forward to and stop living in the past.

Many thanks to Roland for making the beautiful SC-88 available as a modern VST you can use in your DAW of choice and many thanks to all of the people in that forgotten era which encouraged my music endeavors in some way. You know who you are.
